"The landscape and wildlife images I paint are created using soft and
hard chalk pastels, as well as pastel pencils for the fine detail in the animal
hairs. Using pastels has helped to loosen up my style I find, compared to my earlier
more photographic style of painting. The range of colors is exciting and the
juxtaposition of the pastels on the painting surface helps create more of an
impressionistic quality that I enjoy experimenting with. I typically paint on
a fine sand paper made specifically for pastel. The ability to capture fine
detail is enhanced by this type of paper and it is rated as archival so I feel
confident that my work will withstand the test of time. Pastels are ground pure
pigments and are one of the oldest art media. My original paintings are also

Giclee Prints
Giclee prints are the premium method of printing, a recent development (pronounced
jhee-clay). Galleries and museums have fully accepted and embraced the new technology
which is basically very fine inkjet printing using archival inks. Archival inks
and papers have been critically tested to withstand fading and other degradations
for many years. The combinations I use are warranted to be archival for 100
years or more, effectively making the prints heirloom quality. The inks capture
a wider range of colors than litho printing, with a much finer dot. The paper
has a premium luster finish, heavy weight and acid-free.
